New Delhi: Criticizing the Centre over the Union Budget, the Congress on Saturday took a dig at Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, stating that while she spoke of four engines of development, the Budget itself was “completely derailed.”

During her Budget speech, Sitharaman highlighted agriculture, MSMEs, investments, and exports as the four key drivers of development.

Taking aim at the Union Budget, Congress General Secretary in-charge of communications Jairam Ramesh said, “The FM mentioned four engines: agriculture, MSMEs, investment, and exports. There are so many engines that the budget has entirely gone awry.

In another post, he criticized the BJP, saying, “Under Arun Jaitley’s leadership, the BJP successfully sabotaged the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act, 2010, which international companies had opposed during Dr. Manmohan Singh’s tenure as PM. Now, to appease Mr. Trump, the FM announces plans to amend the Act.”
