New Delhi: Baloch leaders have announced their independence from Pakistan, declaring Balochistan a free nation. Mir Yar Baloch, a prominent Baloch leader, made the announcement in a post on social media platform X, stating, “Balochistan is no longer part of Pakistan.” He called on India and the international community to recognize Balochistan’s independence.
“We Are Not Pakistanis, We Are Baloch”
Mir Yar Baloch emphasized that the people of Balochistan have made their decision, saying, “The Baloch people have chosen their path. We are not Pakistanis; we are Baloch.” He accused the Pakistani government of violence, enforced disappearances, and human rights abuses against the Baloch people. He also urged Indian citizens not to refer to Baloch people as “Pakistani citizens.”
Balochistan Now the “Republic of Balochistan”
Baloch leaders claim that Balochistan is now the “Republic of Balochistan” and has officially separated from Pakistan. However, no official confirmation has been made yet regarding this declaration.
Increased Activity After India’s Operation Sindhu
Earlier, on May 7, India conducted Operation Sindhu, a surgical strike targeting terrorist camps in nine locations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Since then, discussions about Balochistan’s independence have gained momentum on social media.
Will Pakistan Accept Balochistan’s Independence?
Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest province, has long been a hotbed of separatist movements. The Pakistani military and government have been accused of suppressing Baloch voices through force. The big question now is whether Pakistan will acknowledge Balochistan’s independence or respond with military action.
World Awaits Global Response
Baloch leaders have appealed to the international community not to remain silent. All eyes are now on how countries, including India, will respond. Will Balochistan be recognized as an independent nation? Only time will tell.
