New Delhi, February 1: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has allocated ₹11.21 lakh crore for capital expenditure in the Union Budget for 2025-26.
This reflects a 0.9% increase over the previous year’s Budget Estimate of ₹11.11 lakh crore. However, compared to the revised estimate of ₹10.18 lakh crore for 2024-25, the allocation for 2025-26 is significantly higher.
Capital expenditure (capex) is aimed at creating long-term physical and fixed assets, driving economic growth and infrastructure development.
