During the time of former Chief Minister Shiela Dixit, Gandhi also condemned the AAP government for demolishing the infrastructure constructed by the Congress.

Rahul Gandhi, a Congress MP, sharply criticised Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday for the Union Budget’s preparation, raising concerns over the purported under-representation of under-represented groups in the decision-making process.

Gandhi emphasised the lack of participation of Dalits, tribal people, backward castes, and minorities in the budget-making process when speaking at a rally in Delhi prior to the assembly elections.

Gandhi, the Lok Sabha’s Leader of the Opposition, also said that a select few controlled the budget-making process.

“The finance minister will be carrying a briefcase tomorrow, as you can see. There will be a picture. There isn’t a single Dalit, tribal, backward class, or minority individual in the picture. Tomorrow, 90 policemen will prepare the budget. Three of the 90 officers are OBC. Gandhi was cited by ANI as saying, “Your officers will decide only 5 rupees if 100 rupees are distributed in the budget tomorrow, and your population is 50%.”

Gandhi’s critique is made one day before Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s February 1 presentation of the 2025 Union Budget.

Kejriwal is criticised by Rahul Gandhi for demolishing the Cong’s “infrastructure.”
Gandhi then focused on Arvind Kejriwal, the national coordinator of the AAP, accusing him of failing to include members of minority communities in his staff.

“Kejriwal’s team consists of nine members. This leadership team does not include any members of the Dalit, Adivasi, backward class, or minority groups. Gandhi stated, “This is a party of two to three percent as well.”

In addition, the Congress leader blasted Kejriwal for not cleaning Yamuna after ten years.

“Kejriwal had declared five years prior that he would dive in the Yamuna and drink its water. He’s walking around with a water bottle and claiming that it’s contaminated because of the Haryana government or someone else. It’s your responsibility, Kejriwal. “Our fight is not opportunistic; it is founded on ideology,” he continued.

Gandhi also blasted the AAP government for demolishing the Congress-built infrastructure that had been in place under former chief minister Sheila Dixit.

“Arvind Kejriwal arrived in a WagonR and proceeded directly to Sheesh Mahal’s parking area. “He has destroyed all of the infrastructure that Sheila ji had constructed, including roads, bridges, flyovers, and development work,” Gandhi stated.
