In her first cabinet meeting on Thursday, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta approved the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat scheme with a top-up of ₹5 lakhs and the tabling of 14 CAG findings in the assembly’s first sitting.

We discussed and passed two major agendas. The first was the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, which the previous government had blocked. Prime Minister Modi introduced this scheme for the entire nation, but due to the Aam Aadmi Party government, it could not be implemented in the capital. With a ₹5 lakh top-up from the Delhi government, the scheme will now be implemented,” said Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta while addressing the media

In order to promote Universal Health Coverage (UHC), the Government of India’s flagship program, Ayushman Bharat, was introduced in accordance with the National Health Policy of 2017. Developed in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the program maintains the pledge to “leave no one behind.”

Asserting that it would “amount to downgrading the healthcare initiatives already in place,” the previous AAP government, which was led by former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, had rejected the Center’s Ayushman Bharat scheme’s implementation in Delhi.

She went on to say that the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports were the second item on the cabinet meeting’s agenda because the previous government had not submitted 14 of them to the Delhi legislative assembly.

According to Rekha Gupta, these findings would be presented during the House’s first session.

The recently sworn-in chief minister of Delhi declared, “We will fulfil each of our commitments one by one and get them passed.”

The Delhi administration of the Aam Aadmi Party had opposed the tabling of reports, many of which were allegedly critical of its operations and some of which the BJP had previously made public.

The Delhi excise policy, the refurbishment of the chief minister’s official home, vehicle pollution, public health, and the effectiveness of government ministries were among the important topics covered in these reports. These topics were all important throughout the election campaign.
